Brushes and slip-ring

A drawing of how i made it

I made two round brushes from normal one's (it's soft material easy to do) round 3.9 mm. Then i drilled two holes round 4 mm in a piece of plastic at the end of the hole's it's 2.5 mm round. Take two spring's like the one in a ballpoint, and solder a wire on to it. Buy a lathe machine or find a friend, uncle, neigbour, fellow student with a lathe. Make two ring's out of copper, messing or bronze and one isolator from plastic. The ground ring goes direct on the motor axis, the +5v ring is isolated by the plastic ring Solder a wire to the +5v ring

If you don't have a lathe but you know how to etch printed circuit boards maybe you could make a flat slipring!

If you take a look in Bob's gallery, he now has an example using a stepper moter as dynamo.

Special thank's goto

Vlam Machinefabriek, Andijk, Holland for the abuse of lathe, mill and drilling machine's
